Gas is one commodity that seems to go up and down like a yo-yo. One day it will go up and the next day it will go down. Gas is affected by many different things . Let's look over why gas rises and falls and how we can save a little money when we buy gas. One of the hardest things people find it hard to understand is why the price of gas rises and falls so easily. One thing that many people don't understand that a lot of it is political.
When political events happen in our country and other countries it affects the price of oil which in turn will affect the price of gas eventually. People think that gas companies control it and to a certain extent that is right, but they only have so much control on it. Another thing that also determines the price is supply and demand. When we have a low supply and high demand the price will go up, while low demand and high supply the price will slide. During the summer demand is at an all-time high and thus you usually see the price go up. In the winter months it tends to go down as less people are traveling. now you don't have to be at their mercy as their are some tips you can use to save you some money. First buy gas in the morning as with less humidity and temperature you will get more gas. Another good tip is to combine errands so you don't have to make a lot of errands and get it done it one trip. Buy gas on the weekends or the first of the week as the price tends to be cheaper. People don't realize that going over the speed limit burns up alot excess gas and so does under inflated tires. All these tips can help save you money on your next gas purchase. The other things is look for cheap gas as many stations will run deals and if you are on the lookout you can save money. If you do your homework than cheap gas can be found and the gas you do buy will go longer if you follow these easy tips. Gas will probably continue to go up and their really is nothing we can do about it except grin and bear it.
