One of the things people may buy more for their car than most anything except gas is tires for their car. Tires have really changed in recent years and are still changing as we speak. Their use to be a time when all you had to do was ask for a set of tires to be put on your car and that was the end of that. In today's world that isn't the way it is anymore. Tires are design with the consumer in mind instead of just mass producing them. let's take a look at a few of these.
Many companies now make what I call designer tires that are basically made for certain kind of cars. These tires are durable, but are made more for show than they are for durability. Don't get me wrong they are good tires just not as good as their special tires. Specialty tires are another segment that tire companies have really taken to the next level. With the four season not all tires are good for use all the time. All-weather tires are good for all year use, but winter calls for a special tire. Companies have seize this and design tires for this. Tire tread are another factor that goes into the ever changing evolution of tires. Tire companies have found out through testing that tread does make a big difference in certain instances. Tire manufactures now make separate treaded tires for separate seasons. These companies have made niche markets out of different seasons to move their tires easier. One of the things that I've seen lately in the market are cheap tires and used tires making an impact. Cheap tires can be bought at discount houses instead of going to tire stores. Used tire stores cater to a lower end of the market and usually sell used tires from 20-30 dollars a piece. This market has really caught fire since the economy has been on the downswing and higher unemployment has been a problem. This market doesn't look like it's going to die down anytime soon as more and more companies are popping up all the time. Tires have changed many times in the last few years and as better design tires are introduced I look for the market to just continue to grow. The consumer is the big winner in all this.
