There use to be a time when you would enter someone's home and stack of books would be sitting around. Books are still popular, but aren't read like they use to be. I can remember night after night when my grandmother would sit and read for hours. It seems that we have lost the passion for reading or have we. One of the biggest things that I think we don't read as much is time. people don't have the time they use to have. Our jobs are forcing us to work more hours thus giving us less time for leisure.

Books are selling well and the availability of cheap books seem everywhere. used books can be bought for a very low price. Cheap college textbooks are also available for college students. many universities sell used college books so college students can say some money. One of the hottest books recently have been Harry Potter and he continues to see well no matter how the economy. this just proves how books still have drawing power.

If the storyline is good it will sell and books of Harry Potter fly off the self year after year. One big advantage of books that I've notice is they really do help kids read better. The hardest part though is getting kids to read books. many top publishers really don't publish books cater to young kids and that really is a shame. kids want to read, but really can't find anything that they like.

Hopefully books will continue to sell well and people will continue to read. I see them growing in the future actually as people start to slow down and buying and reading a book is very cost effective if you think about it. Books can take you to place you never been and back without you ever leaving your bedroom or chair. How many things can you say have the power to do that. Books are something that cost very little and actually some have been sold for a lot of money.

I don't think books will ever leave us because you know how hard it is to read a book on a computer screen. It's just impossible. People like laying down or sitting outside and just reading a book it's a quiet time for themselves away from all the pressures of everyday life.
