The type of monitor that you choose for your computer is important; monitors come in many different styles now, and can range widely in price. Finding cheap computer monitors isn’t quite as simple as it used to be – you now have so many different kinds to choose from that the term “cheap monitors” can mean anything from paying “only” five hundred dollars for an LCD monitor to paying less than a hundred dollars for the old standard CRT monitor.
Figuring out what type of monitor you want When you are searching through stores and looking at computer monitors, of course you want to find the best deal possible. It doesn’t do you much good, however, to get a cheap computer monitor if it’s not the one that you really want. So, the first thing that you want to do is figure out what type of monitor that you really want. If the old standard CRT monitors still look just fine to you, then it shouldn’t be a problem at all to find a great deal on one. Many people these days, however, want more; and are looking for cheap LCD monitors. LCD monitors are more expensive overall, but the quality is something that greatly surpasses anything you will see in a CRT monitor. An LCD, or “liquid crystal display” monitor will almost always have a much sharper picture, which can be very important these days when people are viewing more videos and other graphics on their computers. If you only use your computer for simple things such as keeping track of your household budget or sending and receiving emails, then CRT monitors are probably fine for you. If, however, you are going to be viewing a lot of videos and other graphics on your monitor, then you may want to try to find the best deal that you can on an LCD monitor. Getting the best bargains on monitors If you have decided on one, then where can you find a cheap LCD monitor? Keep in mind that to find good monitors, even LCD monitors, you don’t necessarily have to look at brand new ones. Good quality monitors last a long time, and you can buy an LCD monitor used and still get the quality and durability that you need. Keep an eye out for “company sales”. Many companies periodically replace their computer equipment to keep up-to-date on current technology, and they will often sell their old equipment at significantly discounted prices. This can and does include LCD monitors, most of which are still in fantastic condition.
