One of the biggest arguments you will here from motorcycle riders is when you bring up the subject of helmets. Helmets are something that are used to protect people and a lot of people don't see it at that. many states have helmet laws where it is mandatory you must where one, while many others don't. Helmets are well designed now compared what they use to be a few years back. So, why is their such an uproar about where helmets? let's take a look at why people are on both sides of this explosive issue.

Helmets were introduced to protect people when they rode a motorcycle. Many people were okay with that, but had a problem when your not given the choice to wear one or not. people tend to hate it when you force things on them instead of letting them do it themselves. of course people who don't wear helmets have their reasons for it. I personally can relate to this issue as I wear one sometimes and sometimes I don't.

The biggest complaint about helmets is it's hard to hear anything when you have one on. They have gotten better through the years, but this is still a big problem and continues to be. The other thing is on a very hot day you sweat to death inside one and those honestly are the main two reasons people don't wear them. The only other one is being force to do something doesn't sit well with motorcycle riders.

Their are plenty of reasons to wear a helmet and one main reason is the rate of survival is a lot higher if you have one on. People who ride motorcycles also claim you never know when something may hit your head and your head could be the most important part of your body especially if you ride a motorcycle. The prices of motorcycle have come down the last few years. Cheap motorcycle helmets are easier to find than they use to be.

I guess helmets are an individual preference and no matter what your opinion is people will always do what they want. With more and more states having made helmets law this issue could eventually become a afterthought. For now though the helmet will be up to the person riding the motorcycle and the choice will be up to him or her.
