Apartments seem to keep popping up everywhere you look anymore. I'm starting to see a pattern here and it's not a good thing. it use to be a few years ago people would live in apartments until they could save enough money to purchase their own homes. That trend is starting to reverse itself and maybe that's not a good thing. let's take a look at why this is happening on America. Apartments use to be for people to grow and then eventually buy their own home. Usually younger married couple would start their and move up from them to a home. That has changed a lot in recent years. Let's take a look at it.
Many households now have to have both the mother and father working to make ends meet. This has caused a growth in the building of apartments. people don't have the time for upkeep on the house especially if two people are working and thus the apartment is the perfect solution for them. The drawbacks to an apartment are many and that doesn't seem to slow down the growth though. Apartments are usually more expensive than if you bought a house and you don't have a lot of room in them for the most part. Your neighbors are right on top of you and you have to respect that and give them space just like you want your own space. People like apartments for many reasons and one of the ones I hear the most is they don't have upkeep on them like a homeowner would have. people are so busy anymore that apartments make this possible and you have more time to yourself. If something breaks it's not you worry it's the landlord. I guess the satisfaction of no worries is another reason for their growth. Cheap apartments are everywhere so this is another lure for people. Most of these apartments though aren't in good sections of town, but that doesn't stop people from renting them. I think another big draw for apartments is commitment. You can sometimes sign a lease and leave after a certain amount of time. A home is usually a 30 year deal and that' hard to get out of. People don't like commitment so I guess an apartment will continue to become more popular at the years go buy and more people struggle to make a living.
